Join Mary Kennedy (Showtime's Shameless) who will be headlining Chicago’s Funny Female Festival on Friday, August 24, 10 pm at Stage 773, for a very special Stand Up Comedy Workshop at 2112.

Mary Kennedy runs The Biz Studio in Los Angeles, a Professional Acting and Performance Training Program for Adults. Offering classes in Acting, Sitcom, Improv, Commercial and Dramatic Acting. The Biz Studio also offers Stand Up Comedy Intensives that results in a performance for Industry.

This workshop will give attendees, a crash course in the Stand Up Industry and participants will get a chance to try out material and ask questions. Attendees will also get a special discount for online Biz Studio Classes and a chance to win a free session.

Mary Kennedy, is a recurring character “New Fiona” on Shameless, Season 7. She wrote and stars in her one-woman show, Mid Life Mood Swing, about being a roadie for her mom's wedding band in the 80's. It premiered in Los Angeles and now is touring. She is in the new feature film, Shattered starring, Ray Wise, Arianne Zucker and Molly Burnett. She co-stars in the feature film Creative Differences. You can also see her comic acting regularly in various sketches for CONAN, TBS. Was a featured mom commentator on The Mom Rules web series, TLC Pilot and did the pilot, for Nickelodeon's new network, NickMOM called Road Mamas which she also co-created. She just took off her dancing shoes after appearing as a featured dancer in Allee Willis' BADEYA BABY! with choreographer, Keith Young (RENT). She was also recurring on NBC’s ER as “Officer Trudy Lange” for Season 12. Recently she appeared as Queen Elizabeth, on VanityFair.com which accompanied their cover, The Queen, and Her Corgis.

Mary Kennedy resides in Los Angeles with her family and is an Executive Producer for Morgan Hall Productions. She is also the Program Director for Youth Acting Biz and The Biz Studio, A Professional Acting and Performance Training Program for Kids, Tweens, Teens and Adults. A Graduate of Emerson College.
