Please join Stella Gaytan, President of Bell Fuels Service Co., on August 14th at 6:00pm in Chicago, IL for an evening of community and discussion focused on expanding opportunities for women in the trades.


The purpose of this important and timely event, Rising Together: Women in the Trades, is to bring together women from all vantage points of the trade industries together to showcase and expand upon our individual and collective opportunities for personal and professional growth.


This event will be moderated by a next generation Latina leader, Juana Estrada, Senior Events Manager at Latinas in Tech, and will feature expert opinion and perspective from industry leaders Karen Coley, President of SBC Waste Solutions, Heather Plote, Corporate DBE Coordinator Plote Construction Inc. , Tamara McCollough, DEI Outreach Associate Local 150 Operating Engineers and Sylvie Légère, social entrepreneur, investor, and advocate for civic engagement.


Your host, Stella Gaytan, will give opening and closing remarks. Additional speakers will be announced at a later date.


Topics discussed will be:

· Individual and collective experiences as a woman in the trades

· Challenges and opportunities facing women in the trades

· A pulse-check on the culture towards women in the trades

· Women in leadership positions in the trades

· Action items — What can we do today to advance women in the trades? What obstacles are most pressing?

· Celebrating the wins and acknowledging the challenges.

Chicago Hope Academy is taking Career & Technical Education (CTE) and workforce readiness to a new level for its students and families through the Chicago Hope Academy Trades Training and Apprenticeships.

This program is designed to prove what is possible when a school provides a high-quality education, combined with industry-aligned technical training. With individualized support to ensure each student is prepared for their preferred next step in life after high school, our students will be confident as they pursue apprenticeships, college, or direct entry into the workforce.
