Bands On Brand Launches Type 2 Studios at 2112 Chicago

A new content hub for artists, brands, and organizations looking to elevate their creative output

Bands On Brand (BOB), a music and non-profit services company, is proud to announce the launch of Type 2 Studios, a cutting-edge performance and podcasting space located at 2112 Chicago—Chicago’s premier creative industries hub.

Bands On Brand connects artists, organizations, venues, and brands through curated exposure strategies and collaborative content. Their latest venture, Type 2 Studios—“not a diabetic,” founder Joe Koehneke jokes—is designed to be the KEY to YOUR CREATIVITY.

“I took a liking to the jam band scene in my late teens,” says Joe. “A Type 2 jam is when a band ventures beyond the original structure of a song and elevates into a new territory. That’s what this space is about—breaking boundaries.”

When Joe saw the number 23 on the studio door, the vision crystallized.
“Space Jam. Not the movie—the movement,” he says.

Formerly Noteworthy Studios, the reimagined space channels the energy of a Joe Rogan podcast meets Audiotree Unplugged.

“I saw an immediate opportunity with musicians immediately and how the industry responds to Electronic Press Kits (EPK’s).  Artists have limited resources to make an impression.  It’s your resume and we are here to help them dial it in,” Joe concludes.

Whether you're an artist looking to craft a standout EPK, a brand ready to engage audiences through immersive content, or a creator with a story to tell, Type 2 Studios offers a space built for expression, connection, and next-level production. With a foundation rooted in creativity and community, Bands On Brand is redefining how music, media, and mission-driven work come together in Chicago—and beyond.
